MVRU mission can be accomplished only through the combined skills of our staff members. In our group, we have accumulated years of experience in malaria research. Available is expertise in light microscopy, molecular diagnosis, field works, cell culture (blood and liver stages of parasites) and mosquito production. Excellent data management, logistics, and good quality controls are at the core of our success.

Develop in vitro/ex vivo and humanized models to study biology of malaria transmission (gametocytes, sporozoites) and liver stages with emphasize on P. vivax and its hosts (human/vector). Key opinion leader on malaria elimination.

th My research is focus on the molecular mechanism of gametocytogenesis and hypnozoite formation of P. vivax with an emphasis to discover new antimalaria drugs/ vaccines. The works also documented and invent the use of advance technology of humanized mouse model and iPS cell in P. vivax research.
