More than 30 years experience working on malaria research with focus on malaria transmission in Thailand and non-African countries. Develop in vitro/ex vivo and humanized models to study biology of malaria transmission (gametocytes, sporozoites) and liver stages with emphasize on P. vivax and its hosts (human/vector). Key opinion leader on malaria elimination.

My research is focus on the molecular mechanism of gametocytogenesis and hypnozoite formation of P. vivax with an emphasis to discover new antimalaria drugs/ vaccines. My research is also invent the use of advance technology of humanized mouse model and iPS cell in P. vivax research. I also lead the G6PD team.

My current research aims to understand of malaria parasite biology and mosquito infectivity, with an emphasis to develop novel vaccines for malaria. My current research focuses on understanding the human immune response to malaria by using novel surveillance tool and serological markers to identify malaria transmission

My current research aims to study the genetic diversity of Plasmodium knowlesi parasite found in 2 regions of Thailand. And I'm also interested to study on mosquito physiology and finding molecular marker which related to mosquito blood-feeding behavior. Understanding of those might lead us to understand more about disease transmission in the endemic area during the malaria intervention.

An infectious disease epidemiologist with more than ten years of field experience in malaria-endemic areas. His research interests include but are not limited to malaria epidemiology, public health interventions, and social science.

I have been working on biological functions of a novel non-coding, nc886, in cancer and innate immune responses for many years. Currently, I am interested in turning the new insight of RNA directed therapies and CRISPR-Cas9 based genome editing into more effective tools and strategies for malaria research and control.
